From Frank Haslam (1960-66): In a year that has seen the passing of several Grammarians, amongst them John Bull, Dennis Peacock and Michael Searle, as usual our apologies if bereavement or illness make this mailing inappropriate. If this is the case do let me know. The reunion dinner will take place on Saturday 4th October 2008, again at Beechurst Hall (the Grammar School Assembly Hall) at Soham Village College. I hope to see as many of you as possible. If you have not been before or for a long time, please be sure that you are very welcome. You may have spotted that I am handling booking arrangements this year - Chris Bent will be away and I hope his high standards will be maintained. We are keen to hear from those who will share the task. The principal Guest Speaker will be John Browning OBE (History 47-51) who was present last year. John will talk of his time at SGS. He was the principal author of the School History and in his time a keen sportsman so it should be a good mix. We hope to again welcome Dr Carin Taylor, Principal of SVC. To reserve your place please return the booking form with your payment before Saturday 27th September; reservations are not acknowledged. Should you want confirmation, please email me. Seating arrangements at tables are done by you on the night, using name slips on arrival. Doors open at 6.30pm, with a bar and dinner wine available, for 7.30 assembly. Suits, blazers, school ties or whatever you are comfortable in on such an occasion, is the dress order. We will have a stock of a good value polyester version of the red/black/gold Soham Grammarian tie available at the dinner, or by post for those not able to attend (see below). PLEASE book early and if possible bring at least one Soham Grammarian with you! The list of those who attended in 2007 can be found via our website's reunion page.
