Soham Grammarians - Goldings at SGS
The Golding family are well known in the area (Goldings of Newmarket): at the 2006 reunion, John Ansell, a friend of Mr Peter Golding, handed over a number of photographs and two of Douglas's caps.
Peter Golding writes: The only further information I can give you is that certainly the following Golding brothers attended Soham Grammar School:
Sidney Leslie Golding 1894-1987
(my father) was the eldest. He was also a sportsman and we have
in the family several gold/silver medals that he was presented
with - I will obtain further information on these.
Noel Vincent Sammy
Golding 1901-1994 had a garage business in Newmarket,
who lived in Burwell, was also a sportsman.
Douglas Gerald Golding 1904-1995 Chemist at
University College London until about 1947, then industrial
chemist for Dr.Collis-Brownes linctus - still available
to-day. I have no idea what happened to Douglas's medals
Kenneth Ennion Golding 1892-1914 - died of TB, might have attended.
